Reconnecting in Samhain
I don't usually share personal thoughts but this time I will make an exception as perhaps someone else needs to read these words.
After some time of inactivity, I find myself reflecting on the cycle of the year, The Wheel of the Year. About life and Death. What we sow, what we reap and what we let and don't let go of in our lives.
I don't think it is by chance that I find myself at this crossroads at this very moment. Samhain is approaching and we come to the end of another year.
I find myself reminding myself, almost reproaching myself, of the importance of living according to our values and beliefs. It is so easy to get lost in the rush and worries of life!
But where am I? where is my Essence?
Sometimes it means living at a different pace, with other values that are not accepted by a patriarchal society. Sometimes, it may seem easier to get carried away by "modern" life because there is no time, to fit in, to give priority to the family or to focus on our worldly problems. Nothing could be further from the truth, because the further away you go, the more you get lost.
This is not something that we celebrate one day and go back to our ordinary, everyday lives.
This is the engine that moves us, what gives meaning to our world, the reason for how we relate to and understand our environment and the universe.
It doesn't matter if you call it Mother, Goddess, Lilith, Pachamama, Mother Earth, Gaya... In origin it is all the same. A primal force innate in each one of us. It is what connects us to the universe, to ourselves. It gives us a sense of belonging and a feeling of being the complete beings that we are.
It is what sets us FREE.
Remember that "All your search and desire will be of no avail unless you know yourself. For what you seek you will not find within you, you will not find without".
Hence our motto: ALL YOU NEED IS WITHIN.
